Do you take commissions?
Yes absolutely. My work is almost entirely by contract.
Are you available for consultation?
I am always happy to meet and discuss your concerns. I will listen and provide feedback, suggestions and ideas. Often an on-site trip is necessary and I am happy to do so with travel expenses covered.
What are your pricing plans and payment terms?
My fees are project-based. If you have a job in mind, just reach out and I’ll provide my estimate after learning more about your needs.
Can you improve our zoo map?
Yes, cartography and illustrated maps are one of my specialities. You can view examples of the kinds of maps that I do here.
How long does it take to complete a job?
Every project is unique and has its own timeline. Some jobs are quick and can be completed in a week or two, while others may take months. It also depends on how busy I am with other projects at that time.
Do you print, fabricate and/or install your signs?
Sorry, I am involved only with the design of signs. But my design files are always delivered print-ready. I am happy to recommend vendors that handle materials, construction and installation.
Do you ever collaborate with other artists?
Absolutely. Collaboration with in-house creative teams is essential in crafting the best fit. I also work with marketing and interpretive education professionals.
What is your preferred medium?
I work in a variety of media, from traditional to digital. I love doing my sketching in pencil and painting in watercolor, but final pieces are typically done in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, also Procreate for iPad. The medium is usually dictated by the specific project.
What is your favorite animal?
Tough question! Though I’m particularly fond of birds, I am fascinated by all wildlife.
Do you do fine art and can I commission something specific?
Yes, I do create wildlife art. My preferred medium is color pencil. I actually take commissions for pet portraits, you can learn more about that here.
